Having an axe to grind will be about having a good time once Fort Collins’ newest pub opens its doors.
Axe and Ale will become the city’s first axe-throwing bar, according to the Coloradoan. Axe-throwing bars are a fast-growing entertainment trend of sport and drink that shows no sign slowing down in popularity. The trend exploded across North America over the last two years following the opening of the first axe bar in Toronto back in 2011.
Now, father and son Mark and Ross Erickson have teamed up to bring the fun to the area. The idea sprouted to life after the younger Erickson and his wife fell in love with the concept after visiting an axe-throwing bar in Georgia.
The family recently relocated to Fort Collins and will open Axe and Ale at the former Dungeons & Draft gaming tavern. It closed last summer and is located on Lemay Avenue.
Patrons will be allowed in groups of up to four to throw axes that weigh about three pounds each at targets 12 feet away. Sessions will be available by reservation or walk-up requests.
The plan is for the bar to open up shop in March.
More and more entertainment options keep showing up in Fort Collins. It is yet another reason why so many are deciding to call it home. If you are looking to purchase a home in 2020, contact us today about your loan options.
